Coach Instruction:
Tyler is a teacher with Black Gold School Division. He is an alumnus of the University of Alberta where he completed two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and a Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in Drama. Through his work at schools, summer camps, and after-school care centres, Tyler has worked with children of all ages since 2016. He is passionate about empowering children to discover their passions and grow as continuous learners. As a certified teacher, Tyler has taught speaking and debating skills in both his Drama and Social Studies classes. Critical thinking is an integral aspect of his teaching philosophy, and he regularly encourages respectful debate and exploration of arguments in his classroom. As a lover of performing, Tyler has acted in student directed scenes at the University of Alberta as well as performed in shows by the University of Alberta Improv Group. He also enjoyed working as a tour guide and event coordinator at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden in the summers as he completed his studies. Tyler is passionate about active citizenship, donating blood regularly and volunteering at events like the Edmonton Folk Festival.
