The textbook “Hanyu Pinyin” was commissioned by the China Overseas Exchange Association to prepare the Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College for overseas Chinese students to master the ability to recognize and read Chinese characters. The “Hanyu Pinyin” textbook is best used by first-year students at the beginning of admission. In order to facilitate the teaching of Pinyin to overseas primary school students, a workaround is adopted in the compilation, avoiding spelling rules as much as possible, and entering the teaching of Pinyin syllables as soon as possible. Some pictures and simple Chinese characters corresponding to syllables are also arranged in the textbook to help students have a preliminary understanding of the relationship between syllables, Chinese characters and Chinese by comparing pictures, syllables and Chinese characters. The “Hanyu Pinyin Workbook” is used to arrange and practice the content of the “Hanyu Pinyin” textbook. It is mainly used to train students to recognize and read initials, finals, tones, spelling syllables, and pronunciation and correct pronunciation.
