ACCES Chinese School
ACCES Chinese School was registered 20 years ago under Alberta Chinese Cultural Education Society (ACCES) as a non profit public school. With the joint efforts by the Principal, teachers, Board members, parents and volunteers, we have serviced more than 2000 students with Chinese language and culture learning classes. programs, and activities.
From the 2023-2024 school year, ACCES Chinese School will focus on teaching Chinese language and culture for the students from kindergarten to grade 9. We are going to use the [中文] published by Jinan University. There are one textbook with A and B Exercise Books.
There will be two exams in a school year, and HSK (Han Yu Shui Ping Kao Shi) courses will be added in for the classes as one of the evaluation of learning.
All the teachers are experienced and qualified in teaching Mandarin for their grade levels. There will be Chinese Writing and Speaking Contest, Year-end Celebration, Scholarship Ceremony, Summer Camps and many other activities and events.

Can understand everyday conversations and conduct simple communication in Chinese.

Grade 2
Can understand and conduct simple daily Chinese communication. Able to read part of pinyin, can read simple Chinese stories according to pinyin. Can write basic Chinese characters, phrases and five-character sentences related to daily life.

Grade 3
Able to understand and communicate in daily Chinese. Can spell Pinyin. Be proficient in writing Chinese characters, antonyms, and phrases commonly used in daily life. Can form ten-letter sentences. Can read Chinese with pinyin.

Grade 4
Can understand simple Chinese short stories, and can recite simple Chinese children’s songs. You can read simple Chinese extracurricular books with the help of pinyin. Proficient in using Chinese Pinyin. Be proficient in writing common Chinese characters, phrases, phrases, and short sentences.

Grade 5
Can conduct daily listening and speaking in Chinese. Chinese stories can be read with the help of Pinyin. Proficient in using Chinese Pinyin. Can write everyday Chinese characters proficiently. You can freely form phrases and make sentences.

Can understand Chinese stories. Can communicate fluently in Chinese. Able to read long Chinese short texts. Write a few text messages.

Grade 7
Suitable for children who graduated from the sixth grade of Chinese and English schools. Can understand longer Chinese stories and try to retell them. Can read Chinese texts and write letters with dozens of sentences.

Can understand fables and stories, and can retell the stories more accurately. Can read simple Chinese classical stories. Be proficient in writing several paragraphs of letters.

Alberta Chinese Cultural Education Society (ACCES) was registered in 2001 as a non profit organization. It was approved by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a charitable organization in 2021. For the past 25 years, ACCES has been providing services to more than 6000 members in the community. In 2023, the Alberta Education approved our application for being a funded and accredited Alberta Heritage Language School, which will provide online and in-person Chinese Language and Culture credited courses to Grade 10-12 in Alberta. The ACCES Chinese School for Preschool to Grade 12 students, even for adult students without providing credits is still a non-profit school under ACCES. There are four sections under ACCES: ACCES Chinese School, Alberta Heritage Language School, Beyond Language and Culture Education, Sports, Workshops, and Activities.
